Tell us about yourself.
I am a retired healthcare administrator (accountant) and I turned 60 while undergoing chemo. I live in Bowling Green Kentucky.

How did you find out about DigniCap?
I found DigniCap through online research. The closest center for treatment was 80 miles away in Bell Meade, TN – right outside of Nashville. I chose DigniCap because it was the gold standard in hair retention.

“Cancer is a very personal journey for me. Keeping my hair allowed me to control when to include people.”

Did you have a successful experience using DigniCap?
I retained 95% of my hair. Had very little loss. I followed the suggested rules to a “T”.

Why was trying to keep your hair during chemotherapy important to you?
It was important to me because I teach bible classes and did not want the focus on me. To be effective in my teaching it was best if people didn’t see cancer when they looked at me. It allowed me to maintain my dignity.

How did keeping your hair affect you, and those around you?
Cancer is a very personal journey for me. Keeping my hair allowed me to control when to include people. While going through active treatment I only told a handful of people. I speak openly about it now and most often people respond “but, you have your hair”.

What advice would you give to someone who is going through a similar experience, or who has recently been diagnosed and is considering scalp cooling?
Trust the process, be diligent.
