“I wanted to feel as normal as possible and I wanted control over one thing in my life – and with DigniCap I could control my hair!”

Tell us about yourself.
I am a wife, mother of two girls, daughter, sister, aunt and friend! I have always had thick beautiful hair! I was known for my hair, people referred to me and my girls as the hair family. I was extra devastated to learn I would lose my hair with my chemotherapy treatment.

How did you find out about DigniCap?
I did a bunch of research and found DigniCap. When I inquired about it at my facility, I was told they weren’t going to get the machine. My family rallied around me and said, “absolutely not!” So we pushed and pushed and my facility got the machine!

Did you have a successful experience using DigniCap?
I had a VERY successful experience with DigniCap! I kept most of my hair. I did lose about 10 percent and a small patch where the cap wasn’t low enough, but it was amazing!

Why was trying to keep your hair during chemotherapy important to you?
I wanted to feel as normal as possible and I wanted control over one thing in my life – and with DigniCap I could control my hair!

How did keeping your hair affect you, and those around you?
I was able to not look so sick and I feel more confident.

What advice would you give to someone who is going through a similar experience, or who has recently been diagnosed and is considering scalp cooling?
DO IT! It is cold and it is hard, but the benefits far outweigh the risks!
