Diagnosis: Breast cancer
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was scared since I was a 37-year-old single mom. All I thought was “Because of my daughter, I refuse to lose this battle. She’s 13 and needs me more than ever.” I needed to keep life as normal as possible for her.
I did lose all the hair on my body and became very skillful in drawing in my eyebrows and putting on fake eyelashes. No one could tell that I was sick and losing any hair. While my hair experienced some thinning, I was still able to keep matters private and maintain a normal life.
When I had my consultation with my wonderful oncologist, I was crying my eyes out. He assured me that everything would be okay, and told me that there were many treatments for my triple-positive breast cancer. I continued to cry and told him that I was upset about my hair. At the time, my hair was all the way down my back and I didn’t want to lose it. When he told me that DigniCap existed, I knew that it was something I was definitely going to try.
My advice to anyone looking to try scalp cooling is to treat your scalp gently and cut your hair short to avoid any extra weight or pulling on the scalp. Thanks to DigniCap, my hair has grown back faster than normal, which I was told could happen. The hair that I lost while it was thinning out did come back curly and I LOVE it! I’m so glad that I went the direction that I did and chose to try using DigniCap!
